DAY 01 - Individual arrival(s) to the airport of Budapest

Individual arrival(s) to the airport of Budapest at the midday. 

Before the lunch our guide collects all the clients registered for this programme.

Lunch at the restaurant in Budapest ( 3-course menu, without drinks ).

Before the lunch a welcome-drink will be given to the clients.

After the lunch our guide will check the daily programme details with the clients.

Budapest - Sightseeing tour

First PEST, the new side of Budapest:
Andrássy avenue with State Opera House (outside), Millenary square (or Heroes Square), where we can find the statues of the greatest persons of the Hungarian history, City park - greatest relax park of Budapest-, with Vajdahunyad Castle, Zoo, Amusement park, Circus, Széchenyi thermal baths, Boating lake (in winter skating rink). Than return back to City center via Dózsa György street, place of great May Day parades in communist regime, than elegant Stefania street (street of different embassies), at the end of whichone was built the sport center of Budapest: Peoples Stadium "Népstadion", greatest stadium in whole Hungary, named Puskás Ferenc Stadium, after the biggest football player of the Hungarian nation and next to it, Papp László Budapest Arena, where a great number of sport and cultural events are organized ( Mr Papp was a very popular 3x Olympic Gold medalist boxer ). Than we turn to the direction of Eastern Railway Station (great yellow building, renovated some years ago, where the famous Orient Express trains had arrived in the past). We approach the city center via Rákóczi street and the Great Boulevard, the most important shopping streets of the town. Stop at St. Stephen Basilica, reconstructed during 20 years, than we pass next to Liberty square, where are the buildings of Hungarian Television (formerly Stock Exchange Palace) and National Bank of Hungary. The Pest side tour will be finished by passing in front of the Hungarian Parliament.

  • Entry to St Stephen Basilica.
  • Than we pass the Danube via Margaret bridge to arrive to BUDA side, historical heart of Budapest.
  • Lunch at a nice typical restaurant at Castle district ( 3 course menu, without drinks ).

Visit of the Castle District: Fishermens Bastion, decorative motif of this district, Matthias church, coronation church of Hungarian kings in the past, historical circular of Hilton Budapest Hotel, Trinity Square, where a column has been raised by the habitants of Buda, to commemorate the victory against plague, Royal Palace, great complex, housing the exhibitions of Hungarian National Gallery and Budapest Historical Museum.

  • Entry to Mathias church and Hungarian National Gallery.
  • Free time for individual activities.
  • Than departure for a typical dinner with gipsy music, folklore performance and wine at a nice typical restaurant of the town
    ( 3 course menu, with drink forfait included ).
  • Than go to the Citadel, from where the clients can see the superb panorama of illuminated Budapest.
  • Go to Debrecen
  • Night at the accomondation

 


DAY 02 - Debrecen - Sightseeing tour

  • Breakfast at the accommondation.
  • Than sightseeing tour of Debrecen, with de-luxe minibus.

DAY 03 - Budapest - Danube Bend - Budapest

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast departure for a whole day excursion  to the Danube Bend, via ESZTERGOM - VISEGRÁD - SZENTENDRE.
  • First, stop at ESZTERGOM, old royal town, birth-place of our first king, Stephen I. The town is the center of the Hungarian Catholic Church.
  •  Entry to the Basilica, which is the residence of the primate-archbishop of Hungary.
  • Visit to its Treasury and Crypt.
  • Than proceed to  VISEGRÁD , royal residence at the times of Mathias king.
  • Visit of the Fortress, with its local exhibitions.
  • Lunch at a nice restaurant at Visegrád ( 3 course menu, without drinks ).
  • Before arrive to Budapest, stop at  SZENTENDRE, little art town at 20 kms to North from Budapest, constructed by the Serbs escaped from before Turkish troops.
  • Entry to the ceramic museum of Kovács Margit, great artiste of the town.
  • Arrival in Budapest at the end of the afternoon.
  • Retransfer to the hotel.
  • Dinner ( 3 course menu, without drinks ).
  • Night at the hotel

 DAY 04 - Budapest - Gödöllő - Eger - Budapest

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast departure for a whole day excursion to the Northern Mountains , via Budapest - Gödöllő - Eger - Budapest.
  • Visite of the famous Grassalkovich palace at Gödöllő, summer residence of queen Sissi.

The little town of Gödöllő is famous for its wonderful palace, named after his former owner, Grassalkovich palace. This building is the nicest masterpiece of Baroque architecture in whole Hungary. This 250 year palace, having a built-up area of 17000 square metres, and surrounded by a 28 hectares nature park, was the relax residence of many very important personalities in the pas centuries. Amoung them, on the first place has to be remarked the wonderful queen of Hungarians, Sissi. At the interior of the palace an extraordinary exhibition has been made, presenting the apartments of Sissi and his husband, Francis Joseph and Sissis life.

  • Than the travel proceeds upto  Eger , very important historical town at the Northern Mountains ( Bükk ). The town is also considered as "wine capital"; this is the region where the famous Bull Blood of Eger ( Egri Bikavér ) and Little Girl of Eger ( Egri leányka ) are produced.
  • Lunch at a typical restaurant, with tasting local wines ( 3 course menu, with drinks ).
  • Than sight-seeing tour of the town, with entry to the Fortress of Eger.
  • Return to Budapest at the end of the afternoon.
  • Dinner ( 3 course menu, without drinks ).
  • Night at the hotel.

DAY 05 - Budapest - Hungarian Great Plain (Puszta) - Budapest

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast departure for a whole day excursion to the Hungarian Great Plain, called spread over the World "Puszta" , via Budapest - Hungarian Great Plain - Kecskemét - Budapest.
  • Upon arrival to the puszta, the clients are welcome by outlows dressed in traditional clothes of puszta: tasting of the famous abricot brandy "barackpálinka" and the Hungarian typical pastry "pogácsa".
  • Horse show.
  • Ride on horse-drawn carriages to discover the secrets of the Puszta with its typical animals, like grey cattles, racka sheep, pigs mangalica. Nowhere you can see these animals, the ancestors of whichones came to the country with Hungarian conquering troops.
  • Typical lunch at a puszta tavern, called "csárda" ( 3 course menu with drinks ).
  • Return to Budapest via Kecskemét, "capital-town" of the Hungarian Puszta, native town of Kodály Zoltán, great Hungarian composer and of Katona József, creator of Hungarian drama.
  • Sightseeing tour of the town.
  • Return to Budapest to the end of afternoon.
  • Dinner ( 3 course menu, without drinks ).
  • Night at the hotel.

DAY 06 - Budapest - Herend - Veszprém - Lake Balaton - Budapest

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast departure for a whole day excursion to the lake Balaton region, via Budapest - Herend - Veszprém - Tihany  - Budapest.
  • First, visit of the worldwide famous porcelain manufacture company at Herend.
  • Entry to the porcelain museum and to the mini-manufacture.
  • Than proceed upto Veszprém , "town of queens" - many of Hungarian queens had been crowned here.
  • Visit of Castle district and the Baroque center of the town.
  • Typical lunch at a good restaurant at city center ( 3 course menu, without drinks ).
  • The next stop will be at  Tihany, the only peninsula of lake Balaton, called "Hungarian sea".
  • Entry to local abbey of the Benedictines.
  • Then transfer to the other side of the lake by ferry-boat.
  • Return to Budapest via Siófok, the most important bathing town around the lake, with panoramic tour.
  • Return to Budapest to the end of the afternoon.
  •  Dinner ( 3 course menu, without drinks ).
  • Night at the hotel.

DAY 07 - Free day in Budapest / Departure from Budapest

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • FREE DAY for a more personal discovery of the town, at clients fees.
