

Boldogkőváralja
Village with 1,100 inhabitants 25 kms from Szerencs on the western edge of the Zemplén mountains. The castle of Boldogkő, originally built in the 13th century, was rebuilt in the 15th century. The Catholic church was built in Baroque style in 1768. There is a house of regional trariditions in the village. The park of Tó-hegy volcanic crater is a nature conservation area.
Hollóháza
Village with 1,188 residents at the northern foot of Zemplén Mountains. In the Porcelain Museum items of the history of the local porcelain factory and porcelain paintings and drawings by Endre Szász are exhibited. Works of Margit Kovács and Endre Szász can be found in the Roman Catholic church, which was built in 1967.
Aggtelek
Village with 577 residents north of Kazincbarcika at the Slovakian border. The karstic cave-world was declared as part of the world heritage in 1995. The famous stalactite cave and the Aggtelek National Park are visited by tourists throughout the year. Organized events include the Aggtelek Arts Weeks, concerts in the cave, Village Days, Rock-Climbing-Days, Artists Camps, open-air performances.
Füzér
Village with 618 residents in the northern part of Zemplén, near the Slovakian border. It is one of the earliest private fortresses in Hungary, originally built at the beginning of the 13th century. In 1389 it came to the possession of the palatine line of the Perényi family. After the defeat at Mohács, the crown was hidden here by Péter Perényi. The castle chapel, still making an imposing sight, was built in the 15th century is. In the mid-16th century palaces were reconstructed in renaissance style. The Castle Hill is a nature conservation area.
